The recent Apple iPhone 5S release introduced the world to fingerprinting technology on a major phone manufacturer. Samsung however
is looking to step it up another notch with smartphone technology with a new curved glass smartphone.
During a media event on Wednesday in Seoul, Samsung announced it plans to reveal a curved glass model smartphone next month.
Reuters covered the event quoted Samsung’s mobile business head of strategic marketing D.J. Lee: “We plan to introduce a smartphone with a curved display in South Korea in October.” The event’s main purpose was introducing the world to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
Details about the device however were not revealed but during the Consumer Electronics Show in 2011 Samsung did however have a prototype flexible AMOLED screen on display.
Apple was also rumored to be testing out curved glass technology. The long awaited iOS wristwatch device is expected to sport a curved glass display.
