LinkedIn Introduce Facebook Style Mentions

LinkedIn will now feature a simple, popular function featured on the social network Facebook. What changes can you expect to see on LinkedIn? Find out below.

If you have an account on LinkedIn then expect it to be more chatty at this time and in the future.

The commerce-centered social networking site on Thursday started sharing out its latest feature that allows you to name and link back other LinkedIn accounts and businesses in status updates along with the main discussion. The newest aspect has same methods to what’s previously offered on network sites such as Facebook as well as Twitter, and is meant to make it simpler to start discussions with your friends on LinkedIn.

“We’re excited to introduce a new way for you to engage with your network through the ability to mention your connections and companies in the conversations on LinkedIn,” Angela Yoonjeong Yang, associate product manager at LinkedIn, shared her blog post on Thursday.

The newest add on on LinkedIn is just like those features of Facebook. You simply start off by typing the individual’s or business’ name right on your status section box, or the even in the comment section which can be found on your homepage.

“We also know you’re engaging in meaningful conversations across other areas of LinkedIn, so look for the ability to mention your colleagues beyond the homepage in the near future,” she added.
