Don’t scramble with your cable providers channel guide next time you don’t have something to watch. TiVo can now find programmings for you based on your preferences. Check out the new TiVo feature below.

TiVo changed the way we watch television giving users the ability to record television shows. The service just got better, TiVo via the iPad, can now recommend live TV programmings.

With the new “What to Watch Now” feature on the iPad users will have shows recommending for their viewing based on their personal preferences. By accessing user-defined preferences, viewing history and “regional viewing trends” TiVo will now be able to find shows which are set to air within the next 30 minutes and with the gathered data the suggestions should be on interest to the user.

The “What to Watch Now” feed is just one of the many enhancements coming to TiVo, according to TiVo, new feeds, including those based on social networking trends and critic recommendations will be added to the service in the near future.

Google held its annual Google I/O conference and they revealed some new products and services which will make our lives easier in the near future. One of the rumored services was a music streaming service and it was finally revealed yesterday. Details about the new Google music streaming service below.

Google is currently hosting Google I/O, the company’s annual conference for software developers. A rumored service from Google was revealed today, a subscription based music service. The service is tied directly into Play, Google’s online media hub. The service will compete directly with the popular Spotify music service.

Should Spotify be worried about the new service dubbed Google All Access? The service which launched yesterday in the U.S. has similar features to Spotify but includes a deep integration with Google’s search capabilities. Users will be able to search through various genres of music to their leisure, additionally the service will offer a radio feature. During the announcement, Chris Yerga, Google’s engineering director described the feature: “This is radio without rules. It’s as ‘leanback’ as you want to, or as interactive as you want to.” The listener will be able add songs from the radio to playlists.

Unlike Spotify, Google All Access will not offer a free version of the service. The service will be $9.99 like a premium Spotify user and you can try out the service right now for 30 days at no charge. If you really like the service, Google is offering an discount to users who sign up before June 30. If you sign up before that date the service will be $7.99 instead of $9.99.

It has been a month since the world’s largest social network released Facebook Home for Android users. The app is a hit in the Google Play store. Find out why below.

Exactly one month since its release, Facebook Home has been download 1 million times from the Google Play store.

During a press event last week, Facebook’s director of mobile engineering told reporters that had been downloaded “just about” 1 million times. Over the weekend the app was labeled as installed 1 million – 5 million times in the Google Play Store. The million download mark is defiantly a great feat to accomplish but it seems like the app is losing its luster. According to App Annie, a site which tracks app store rankings, Facebook Home is currently below the top 100 Android apps in every country where it’s available. Most developers would be happy just to reach the million download mark but with downloads slowing down since its release the app is moving in the wrong direction being Facebook has over 750 million active monthly users.

Facebook has yet to comment further on the download numbers of Facebook Home.

Amazon is expanding their hardware offerings with a new smartphone offering. What can we expect from the online retailer in the near future? Find out below.

Besides its Kindle e-readers an tablets, Amazon is developing a smartphone device to add to its lineup. According to the Wall Street Journal one of the devices will feature a glasses-free 3D screen, the other device will offer more traditional features. Besides the new smartphone offerings, Amazon is rumored to be working on an audio-only device that streams music.

It is interesting to see Amazon developing a device with a 3D screen due to the poor history of the feature. Nintendo has downplayed the 3D capability of its 3DS device in its recent marketing. Sony and HTC have also released released phones with 3D displays in the past, both which made a small impact on the market.

The WSJ reports says we can expect to see the devices within the next few months. The 3D screen smartphone is very interesting but specs on the audio streaming device are even more interesting. Could the device revolutionize the growing popularity of streaming music services? Could this device taking over the portable music marketing, primarily the Apple iPod? Only time will tell, Amazon at the moment has yet to comment on the recent rumors.

What was the most popular video in New York last night on YouTube? What about Hawaii? With the new interactive map you can answer that question plus many more in real-time. Find out more about the new YouTube feature after the jump.

Yesterday YouTube launched its interactive Trends Map, a visualization of the most shared and viewed videos over the last 12 to 24 hours in a number of major U.S. markets. The map breaks down the trends not only by market but also by women or men, or different age groups.

Announced in a recent blog post, “The Trends Map is the result of all the great feedback you’ve given us from the Trends Dashboard, as we keep working to help you find great videos and channels on YouTube.” The feature is currently only available in the US but YouTube said to “stay tuned” to future updates.

The Trends Map is not the only major change YouTube is undergoing. According to the the Financial Times, Google is in the works on launching a subscription service that would let users sign up and pay for access to individual channels. Only selected channels will have the feature and subscriptions are rumored to start at $1.99.
